“My Kuya’s Assistant” By Sharmyn Bacayo

I don’t know if I should call this a review dahil sa totoo lang, hindi ko alam kung paano gumawa ng matinong book review. Hehe! Honestly, I don’t know how to make a book review.

Okay. First and foremost, this was Red Weasley’s first released book na nakita kong inilabas sa Manila International Book Fair last September 2014. I forgot the exact date, sorry. If I remembered, it started when I followed her on Wattpad. I usually had the habit of following Wattpad authors that had published works on paperbacks, mapa-traditionally published man iyan o self-published. But I don’t do that to all authors. Pinipili ko pa rin, so far.

Anyway, it started from there. I only managed to buy the book last January right after I received my check from my approved manuscript from MSV. I bought “My Kuya’s Assistant” along with two other books.

Okay, so let’s get on with the business, shall we? Hehe!

And I think about 65%-70% (estimated) of the story contains mostly dialogues which is okay naman. Usually nga, ang required ay more than 50% dapat ng story ay dialogues. Hehe! This is one of the things I easily noticed. It was written in first POV which was Jennica’s (the lead girl) and I think sa iisang scene lang yata sa last chapter may POV si Thomas (the lead guy) and that’s it.

As in! Hehe! Pasensiya na po sa pagwawala. Anyway, back to the topic. As for Jennica, I think what she did all the way just for Thomas to realize her feelings was one thing I would definitely consider crazy… for now. But it also made me think na marami nga talagang magagawa at kakayanin ang isang tao para sa pagmamahal kahit na rejection pa ang makuha niya in the end.

I like the other characters, as well. Haha! Haha!

Well, I guess I owe it to this book kung bakit nakakilala ako ng isang writer na masasabi kong naging ka-close ko kahit papaano sa Wattpad at FB.

NOTE: I was listening to “Sayonara No Mae Ni (Before We Say Goodbye)” by AAA while writing this.
